Baartol Co., Inc., found in 1931, is in it's third generation of family operation.

From the early years of flagpoles fabricated from diminishing sections of steel pipe to the advent of tapered steel poles in the 1930's to the development of tapered aluminum poles in the 1950's, Baartol Company has been at the forefront of flagpole development.

Baartol Co., Inc. is on of, literally, a handful of flagpole "manufacturers" on the Internet that actually manufacture flagpoles.

Custom Flagpoles

Baartol Co., Inc. can meet your custom requirements for aluminum, steel, stainless steel and bronze flagpoles. These poles can be tapered in the customary cone taper of architectural venetian entasis taper. Taper rates on steel, stainless steel and bronze can vary from the traditional 1" per 7' 0", to 1" per 2' 0" depending on diameter and thickness of material.

Engineering and Design

Baartol Co., Inc. was involved in the early work done on the ANSI/NAAMM guide specification for design of metal flagpoles (FP-1004-97) that set a national standard for the safe design of flagpoles. A knowledge of the loads that will be imposed on the flagpole due to geographic location, mounting, and location of mounting above grade is critical to proper design. Banner poles are by their very nature and intended use subject to improper design. Baartol Co., Inc. has designed banner poles for Disney World and the National Zoo that incorporate breakaway couplings on the banner arms to insure years of trouble free and safe use.

Automatic Flagpoles

Baartol Co., Inc. is the only manufacturer or motorized, completely automatic flagpoles that raise the flag from it's storage position inside the flagpole at sunrise and return it inside the pole at sundown. This feature has proven particularly advantageous for poles mounted through roofs or domes on roofs of buildings.
